MIVEST giveaway!

The sky is grey. The snow is grey. The ruts in the dirt roads are big enough to swallow small children. It's mud season in Vermont! To celebrate, or commiserate, the Made in Vermont Etsy Street Team is giving away some of our favorite products.

Here's how it works:

As of March 8th, 2010, every two weeks, a member will post a blog entry that includes information about one of their products to be given away. To be entered in the giveaway contest, all you have to do is post a comment to that entry. The comment can be anything - an epic poem about the beauty and usefulness of the giveaway item, a weather report, or simply, "Enter me in the giveaway." After two weeks, the member who posted that blog and giveaway item, will select a commenter at random to win the giveaway product. Make sure you include your Etsy name, if you have one, or an email address so we can contact you with the good news. We'll also post the winner's name on the blog. Mailing information will be obtained and the giveaway item will be on its way.

I have the privilege of being the first MIVEST member to list an item for the giveaway contest. My name is Mary Collins, and I make and sell quilted purse and other quilted things at my Etsy shop, http://byathread2.etsy.com/. I'm fairly new to the Etsy scene, but I'm loving it. I'm giving away the blue quilted purse pictured above. This soft purse has a long strap so it can be worn across the body to keep your hands free. It's the perfect size for carrying the basics for doing errands or sight-seeing. The purse is 7" by 7 1/2", with a 48" strap and two pretty metal buttons. If it gets dirty, just throw it in the washer and dryer.

Leave a comment by March 21st if you want to be entered in the contest for this item. I'll post a winner on March 22nd. Make sure you check back often this spring, for other fabulous giveaways!

I love your fabrics! It is a great idea- to have a small bag for errand runs- where you just want to run in and out...not lugging a big bag.
In Michigan- we are not in the mud season- too cold at night and only 40 in the day...just can't seem to melt the white stuff.

It's so gray and rainy today in MS I had to steal some Etsy time! The purse is lovely and is a fabric used in a quilt top that my mother and I are putting together. :)
Thanks for offering it!

Please enter me in the giveaway! This is a great little bag - I love the small size, the fabric, and that it's washable - and it'd be perfect for toting my stuff when I'm not sharing the diaper bag with the baby :-)
