Featuring: Sweet Avenue Jewelry

You're in for a real treat!
This week we are featuring Sweet Avenue Jewelry by Martha Pullen.

If you love colorful resin flowers and mixed media collage pendants, or like to style your hair with pretty bobby pins- you will adore Sweet Avenue.

Her designs are a popular local favorite and a big hit for special gifts.

Aside from being a jewelry artist, Martha is a musician (both classical and rock) and is just spilling with creative and wonderful energy.

Here is what Martha has to say about her creative process:

Q: What inspires you to create?
A: What inspires me to create? Color and texture. That probably explains why I fell in love with these resin flower cabochons, with all of their detail and endless possible color combinations. Ironically, I also think that my 9-to-5 desk job inspires me to create. Because there's a lack of color and personal creativity involved at my job, it feels liberating to come home and spread flowers or beads all over the floor and play around with the different colors and textures.

Q: What is your favorite thing to work with?
A: I actually love to work with EVERYTHING! I especially love to mix different mediums - paper, ink, beads, metal, acrylic paint...I'm always looking for new ways to mix materials together - that's how my collage pendants came to be (they use scrapbooking papers, inks, image transfers, and acrylic tiles.) However, if I had to pick just one, it would be my first love - gemstone beads.
