Featured Shop - Yellow Dog Farm

Ellen and Jim of Yellow Dog Farm are some of the nicest people I have met, and I am so happy to feature their great Etsy shop here. Besides selling on Etsy, Ellen and Jim take time to travel to several Arts Festivals around the region and this is where I have had the opportunity to meet them and see their fine products in person.

Yellow Dog Farm offers mohair blended yarns from their own Angora goats, as well as beautiful pieces knit from these fibers and gorgeous turned wooden bowls, shawl pins, drop spindles, and more. Ellen is the knitter and Jim is the woodturner, and the combination of their two artistic pursuits is what really makes this shop special.

Besides coming from the Farm's own goats, some of these luxurious yarns are handspun and handpainted, such as this mohair/merino blend.

This periwinkle cloud, a blend of mohair and merino, just begs to be touched.

Jim's turned wooden bracelets are made from several varieties of wood, and feature inlaid and burnt wood designs and smooth, soft finishes.

And I really love the turned bowls - so modern looking with their clean smooth lines, yet inspired by the seed pots used by Native Americans.

To spice things up, Ellen and Jim also offer their homemade habanero and macintosh apple salsa. Yum!

Yellow Dog Farm has many more lovely products in their shop and I do encourage you to have a visit for yourself!
